Comfort From The Inside Out

Ortholite footbeds provide highly resilliant support and cushioning for much longer than conventional footbeds while fighting odour with an environmentally friendly biocide treatment. Ortholite quality footbeds utilise a specialist foam material crafted from an open cell polyurethane layer which has been proven to retain 95% of its cushioning after the first year, opposed to the 30% some of EVA footbeds. Ortholite’s open cell foam is also lightweight and breathable, allowing air to pass through the shoe and excess heat and moisture to escape for cool comfort. Treated with an environmentally friendly biocide, Ortholite footbeds are also anti-microbial.

Magnum use the highest density Ortholite – OrthoLite .13, which offers optimum levels of breathability, moisture transport, and anti-microbial function to create a cooler, drier, and healthier environment inside the boot. In addition, the very low compression set of this formulation guarantees that the comfort and integrity of the OrthoLite material will remain consistent throughout the life of the product.

Breathable for a cooler foot
OrthoLite insoles are made with open-cell foam, allowing air to circulate around the foot, keeping your foot cooler inside the shoe.

Moisture Management
The unique open cell structure of OrthoLite also creates a moisture management system inside the shoe by moving moisture away from the foot leaving the foot drier and more comfortable. When the foot is removed from the shoe any remaining moisture dries very quickly due to the airflow allowed by the open cell network in the foam.

Long Term Cushioning
Our unique spring-back technology means your insole will retain over 95% of its thickness over time and won’t flatten out.

Anti-Microbial Agents
OrthoLite contains a patented anti-microbial formulation to fight fungus, bacteria, and odor in the shoe. The EPA/FDA approved anti-microbial is added during formulation so that it is linked to the foam and will not wear off over time.

OrthoLite is extremely lightweight providing optimum performance without adding weight to the shoe.

Recycled Rubber Content
OrthoLite foam contains recycled rubber powder which allows everyone to do their share in helping our environment.

Just throw your dirty insoles in your washing machine and they come out like new.

Originally developed for military clothing and designed to combat chemical agents, ion-mask technology by P2i is an award winning ultra protective surface enhancement pioneered by Magnum that offers truly groundbreaking benefits, so much so that it forces the world to sit up and take notice.

This breakthrough in surface enhancement works at a molecular (nano) level. Applied inside a plasma chamber, the ion-mask™ treatment binds invisibly to a product material’s surface and fibres, resulting in extraordinary benefits to the end user, without affecting the look, feel or 'breathability' of the boot.

Magnum is proud to have pioneered the introduction of ion-mask™, a quantum leap forward in performance, for certified safety and uniform footwear.

Hydro Management Nano Technology

The plasma process enables polymers to infuse the shoes/boots on a sub-microscopic scale. This means that every single fibre is given a layer of water repellent polymer only molecules thick.

The ion-mask™ process means the fibres on even open weave materials become repellent and therefore much less absorbent.

Coating every fibre, not just the outer layer, means the entire shoe is treated (including seams and laces). If then used without a booty construction the shoe would be as breathable after the process as it was before.

Given the hydrophobic benefits the treated shoe will gain less weight when used in wet conditions as the materials retain less water.

Stay Cleaner
ion-mask™ footwear also helps to keep footwear clean longer, like water the treatment also helps to repel dirt to reduce staining.

Only tiny amounts of chemicals are needed, with minimal waste, so the ion-mask process is also highly efficient compared to traditional methods. Equally the process is activated at room temperature and is a solvent-less process making it one of the most climate friendly footwear technologies available.

Chemical Resistant
Hazardous environments can be commonplace for many of our end users. With a sufrace energy 3 times lower than PTFE (Tefl on) all boots treated with ion-mask™ not only refuse to absorb water, but also repel oil, fuel and alcohol – triple resistant cover for truly life saving protection.

Pathogen Resistant
In critical circumstances the transfer and contact of disease and infection can be potentially fatal. Complying with ISO16604 the ion-mask™ treatment on Magnum boots combats the penetration of pathogenic micororganisms in human blood that cause disease and contamination.

Nature's Antimicrobial

Agion is a slow releasing anti-microbial compound of silver ions, which increases with rising temperatures and moisture to counter the ideal conditions for bacterial growth.

As humidity increases, more silver ions are released to prevent the build up of unpleasant odours. On the molecular level these silver ions bond with the bacterial microbes, rendering them inert. 
However, the release rate is limited to ensure long term protection and remove the build up of odours generated by extreme exercise over time.

Due to the slow release of ions, Agion antimicrobial compound remains effective for longer than other compounds and protects against a broader range of bacteria.

These new protective fabrics can be engineered for optimum resistance to cuts, punctures and abrasions while remaining highly flexible. Optional properties such as flame resistance, specialised grip and more, make for a compete customised solution.

Magnum features Superfabric materials in the new Spider and Sidewinder ranges. It was specially selected as the very best way to protect the uppers from abrasion damage caused by fast roping.

Protecting the foot climate
The bi-component fibres in Cambrelle® allow the lining to constantly adapt to the motion of the foot and the footwear, whilst providing the highest level of abrasion resistance. This in turn produces countless microscopic air pockets that not only allow air to circulate but add to the cushioning effect to create a constant, comfortable micro-climate around the foot.

Staying cool
The lining constantly transports moisture away from the foot, storing it away and releasing it back into the environment when the footwear is removed. Cambrelle® is so efficient at moisture management that it is fully capable of absorbing three-and-a-half times its own weight in moisture keeping the foot cooler, drier, and more comfortable.

Appearance is everything
Cambrelle® not only keeps the feet dry, cool, and comfortable, it also protects the footwear itself. As it is so effective at dispersing moisture, the lining also helps to prevent staining of the upper caused by excess moisture and prevents the build up of bacteria that can cause mildew, rot and odour.
