Originally designed and tested by US Navy SEALs to perform in the harshest environments, Rip Shears™Ripper attaches to a pair of trauma shears* to provide the perfect combination for easily slicing through clothing, equipment and body armour. A pilot cut is first made with the trauma shears, then the Rip Shears™ Ripper unit is inserted to quickly and easily rip through material.

Rip Shears™ Ripper features 440A surgical-grade stainless steel blades for durability and corrosion resistance which receive a proprietary treatment to improve cutting ability and edge retention, making them last 5x longer than standard carbon steel blades.

* Please note, although the Rip Shears™ Ripper may fit most standard trauma shears, we highly recommend ADC Medicut Shears (SI135) as these are recommended by the manufacturer and are proven to be compatible.

Mounted on a standard trauma shear, the Rip Shears™ Ripper unit will cut material as fast as you can move your hand.Anyone can consistently expose the patient in less than 30 seconds using proper techniques. Rip Shears™ will easily slice through street clothes, neck ties, military fatigues, boots, leather jackets, denim, wetsuits, chemical biological and radiological suits (CBR), bandages, sports wraps, plastic packaging, seat belts, and much more! Because it is still a trauma shear, you will cut through thicker materials such as belts, nylon webbing, zippers, and thin metals should the need arise.

Rip Shears™ are made in the USA with the highest quality materials.Made to last, the Rip Shears™ housing has been constructed with fiberglass-reinforced nylon that can be autoclaved up to 270 deg F. The blades are 440A stainless steel and contain a special ceramic coating for increased lubricity. This allows fabric to slide more freely across the blades avoiding snags while retaining the blade edge up to five times longer than a standard surgical blade.

Standard trauma/tufcut shears are a great product with a variety of applications, but they cut slowly and dull quickly.This product can dramatically extend the life of your trauma/tufcut shears and save you money.This is how it works. A pilot cut is first made with the shears and the Rip Shears™ Ripper unit is then used to finish the job.Only the first cut is made with the shears, thus preserving your shears blade edges for when you truly need them. The Rip Shears™ Ripper unit will easily outlast several sets of shears since 95% of the cuts will be made with the Rip Shears™ Ripper.

The glow in the dark "FIREFLY" version of Rip Shears is a favorite among EMS and flight medics. This unique solution to an age old problem helps you easily identify your rescue shears and helps prevent losing them in the dark. Stop fumbling around in the dark! This luminescent design will allow you to quickly spot your shears when time is of the essence. The FIREFLY has been tested and proven not to wash out Night Vision goggles in combat situations.

The standard set of bandage shears will often snag and pinch exposed skin causing pain. The Rip Shears™Ripper can remove tight fitting articles and bandages in the flick of the wrist without causing pain to your patient!With a patented Rip Shears™ design, efficiently remove tough sports wraps, pressure dressings, and hospital ID wristbands comfortably and fast.Simply slip the blade guide between the patient's skin and constrictive articles.For dressing and tight wristbands, firmly seat the Rip Shears™ Ripper along the articles anterior aspect, pull down using quick and deliberate action making sure to keep the safety guy parallel to the skin surface. For sports wraps, firmly seat the guide and use in a rocking motion like a can opener pulling out away from the skin. This technique will allow for the fastest, most comfortable removal. Rip Shears™ has sliced through a standard Israeli pressure dressing with 12 wraps in less than .5 seconds without leaving a single mark!

The Rip Shears™ design combines the power of a trauma shear, the speed and agility of a safety knife and the diagnostic ability of a reflex hammer.
