Talon Rapid Recue Harness (with Reflective Tabs)

The Talon Rapid Rescue Harness (with Reflective Tabs) is designed for the quick and effective extraction of a casualty from the immediate area of risk, (including casualties wearing breathing apparatus, body armour and buoyancy aids) whilst also allowing the rescuer to apply a safe and effective manual handling technique.

Consisting of a centrally located patented attachment system which is permanently fixed to a short length of webbing strap which then extends to longer lengths of strap (see image above), the harness is an affordable solution to rapid casualty extraction.

The harness can be fitted to a casualty very quickly by simply placing the wishbone between the shoulder blades of the casualty and then passing the straps individually under each arm, then bringing the straps over each shoulder and then sliding each strap into the slots on the wishbone.

There are no buckles or clips to be adjusted as the harness automatically self-adjusts to the casualty without restricting vital blood flow. It is intended for use by persons effecting a rescue and removal of an individual from an area of immediate danger and subsequent rapid extrication to a place of relative safety for first aid/trauma care.

This design offers effective application in combination with the current Fire and Rescue Service Breathing Apparatus and fits safely and effectively over the breathing apparatus set without compromising wearer safety or equipment efficiency. To do this simply place the harness between the back plate of the casualty and the cylinder.

This system also allows the rescuer to carry out additional priority tasks whilst effecting the rescue such as:

• Carrying out door opening procedures
• Operation of branch techniques
• Application of fire fighting media, or operating a weapon system by holding both handles in one hand

To fit the harness:

• Pass the straps under each arm
• Over each shoulder
• Slide each strap into the slots on the wishbone
• Pull upwards
